**OFFICIAL** I just bought an M1210 thread! - Page 13

yeah..the SZ is really the only computer that compares to the 1210..but it also costs a lot more... yeah, assholes lying on the phone. Call them out on their BS, heck, give him a link to the website...why would people lie? or post fake pictures? It is not benefitting them... they are just being courteous and sharing a bit of their joy..

But, it'll come! Relax! I assume you got a great deal since you ordered it on May 31, so hang in there! We all are!

I get where you're going with this, but still...

Actually, I tear up every time I read that someone got something comparable for less than $2K. The price that I paid is kind of embarrassing in its excess, but I ordered it on 5/31 so that I could get it and configure it before my trip on 6/27. Cutting it fairly close, I know, but as time was not on my side, I didn't have much choice but to just jump in.

What's frustrating is that people ordering after me have actually got their unit to move past pre-production, whether it be in the build stage or boxing--no matter how far down the line it is, it's still better than the vague "pre-production" status. I'm not angry at them at all--actually, I'm kinda' glad to hear that *some* people are even getting the machine, since that just proves that Dell's reps are lying.

I'm just wondering why Dell had me pay a premium price and then haven't done anything about it.

But in any case, end of rant. Just wanted to share with everyone is all.

How much did you end up paying?

I'm paying, after tax and free next day, $1275 (plus Dell gave me a $50 coupon for not giving me 2% off for paying with my Dell Preferred Account, so really - $1225)

2Ghz Core Duo, 1GB DDR, 60GB 7200, Camera, 4 year warranty/nights and weekends, 8xDVDR, Geforce 7400go, Bluetooth 350, Wifi 3945.

If you paid a LOT more, I'd cancel your order. Honestly, there will be new coupons soon anyway I'd bet,

Got all the same stuff you did (but the HD is 100GB 5400), plus Microsoft Basic. My warranty is the 4 yr. premium, though. Total is $2850.90.

That sounds like FAR too much. As I recall, the 60GB 7200rpm was an upgrade to the 5400rpm 100GB. Yes, you got the premium warranty, but damn, that really is far too much money. I'd cancel it. I could have gotten TWO orders of my laptop in and have almost $500 in change for the price of your one laptop.

Hold off, relax, and get a coupon soon. That system is not worth that much.

Yeah, I figured I would have got an even better discount had I been able to order this thing a couple months back, when I was still in school. Technically, though I've graduated and will be doing post-grad work at the Univ. of Tokyo, I doubt Dell will consider that an "accredited college" to give me a discount.

I wonder if I could heckle another rep in order to get the price a little lower? $2100 or even $2300 would be better than $2800...

Just out of curiosity, where'd you order it (Home and Home Office, SB, EPP?) and were there any coupons that you used? Or did you just configure it online?

Thanks in advance.

Just got it about an hour ago! I'm digging it!

And man is it smaller than my E1505!

More pics after my camera batteries recharge.

It doesn't look that much smaller to me...

Thought it'd be more. Maybe cause of extended battery?

How is it on the eyes with the smail screen? Do YOU feel flex in the keyboard? And of course .....Does it seem fast ?

Mine has no flex. I don't know if I just got lucky or what but it's just fine. The screen is small but really nice. I turned the DPI up to 115% and that seemed to help some. I haven't tried any games on it yet, so right now it doesn't seem any faster than my E1505 (although technically it is, 1.66 vs 1.83).

Works for me. Not that I want it, but was just trying to confirm.

Try logging into your Dell account before clicking. Maybe that's why.

Or just browse by system, it's under "Input Device Drivers".
