W00t, after ages on the phone trying to sort out my DPA, they finally agreed to send me a $50 coupon to my e-mail. I'll believe it when I see it, of course, but hey, it's more than 2%.

those who ordered.... keep us updated on whether your orders get cancelled.

Well, I helped a friend of mine buy one earlier this afternoon approximately 7 hours ago.

She really wanted a small, light laptop (actually lighter than this) and was disappointed that she missed out on the 710m deal a couple days ago. I was telling her that this was coming out but that it wouldn't be in her price range because the XPS never has good coupons like the regular Inspirons.

Anyway, saw the $750 off EPP deal on FatWallet and helped her config a system that came up to approx $1200 including tax (before the $100 rebate) and we placed the order. She got an e-mail from Dell about something wrong with her credit card and then we called them about an hour ago to straighten it out.

I told her that the order might get cancelled cause the coupon isn't supposed to work and that calling might definitely alert them to that fact, but if she didn't call, she'd lose the computer in any case. So she called and gave them a different credit card and the rep told her that the order is currently in production.

I don't know if it will get cancelled, but it's looking good so far. I'm quite jealous because while I don't want a 12" laptop and the 15.4" E1505 suits me perfectly, I really like the case on the M1210.

Anyway, crossing my fingers that this computer goes through for my friend. She's a sweetheart who just went through some tough personal times and it'd be nice if this happens for her (as opposed to some idiot who just wants to eBay it). She's super excited about getting a 2k computer for $1000.

Who wouldn't be?

Dell would definitely not want to lose the number of computers they sold for the 700/710M and leaving the price range 1300+ would certainly do that.

Praying for another monster coupon that is actually legit!

amen, we should totally alert everyone as soon as another one is put up..this system is going to clean my bank account out if I have to take the shot straight...

I think that it would go through. There was a huge error the same week the 640m came out over here in Canada. They marked the price down $450 too much and i still got mine. Dell is usually pretty good with pricing errors.

Let the prices fall baby!!
Well, I bit the bullet and bought mine, fully loaded. It was pretty expensive, to the say the least, but I couldn't wait since I'll be leaving on an extended trip soon.

Thankfully, I did have a very nice rep who was able to drop the price for me by about $100... how she did it is beyond me, but it involved lots of waiting while she went through channels to get it approved. (I guess the moral of the story is that even $100 off is something "big" for Dell to let go... thus all the waiting... )

The more and more I drool over the M1210, the more I realise how happy I am I didn't plunge for a 700/710m.

The things I REALLY like about the M1210 over the 700/710m

Firstly, the full-size keyboard makes me happy.
2nd, the video card IS good for the resolution the system is.
The power port is finally in the right place. That whole "shoving it in the side of the laptop" thing just didn't work for me.

Must...have....M1210....now.

I ordered one from DELL.CA today as well I WISH CANADA COULD QUALIFY FOR THE COUPON DEAL!!

I am very happy with my purchase and I was able to knock down the price on it. DELL Canada had the XPS 1210 setup with a free upgrade to the 256 Meg Nvidia 7400 GO video, so that was nice to see. The sales rep knocked off $40 on the web cam/multimedia upgrade (100-40), $15 off the 9 cell battery (40-15), $10 off the DVD burner upgrade (60-10) and threw in the Creative Audigy On-board sound...

Here are my specs $1795 (taxes included) CANADIAN FUNDS SHIPPED with 6 months no intrest which will allow me to pay over time, cause I will defnitely need too lol I looked at this price thinking it was very high, but you pay for portability. I was looking at the e1505 and the Insprion 9400, but they are a bit bigger, and the 1210XPS is made with better materials and I am sure is a better built machine all together..

ALSO, I figured the jump from 1.66 to 1.83 wasn't worth it on the CPU. It was $150 upgrade and I could not justify it...

How are you getting the information?

I was emailed a confimation with my order# and customer #, but dell's website can't seem to find the order.

What's also weird is I got an email last night about dell's training service, and how my account info will be coming in 24 hours (So I guess I got some training with my xps 1210m....)

Ok, nm, finally got dell support to link my order to my account....

Same for all of us Flas0222.

So what's the dealio with RAM for this bad boy? I hear talk of there being no point in getting 667mhz RAM, and that we should just get 533? Is there any truth to this?

I want to switch to 2GB on this machine, but now I don't know what RAM to buy.
