Reading about the internet, that temperature doesn't seem too bad. There's a site with Core Duo Mac temperatures, and they range from 40C to 60C idle. 44C doesn't sound that bad, and it's well within the acceptable boundries (especially if the laptop itself doesn't feel too hot).
Yeah, maybe it might be just b/c it's 2Ghz. Anyway, I can feel the heat coming through the keyboard on the left side, around the TAB, tilde (~), 1, Q,A,and Z keys. That's a new experience for me, so I was kinda' shocked. If that's supposed to be normal though, I guess I can live with it.
Part of me wondered for a bit though, whether or not the person who had put it together just so happened to accidentally leave something in there to obstruct the airflow...
I was trying out i8kfangui though for the first time and set the fan speed to high. Thankfully, it's not that noisy (at least to my ear) at hi-speed, and it has dropped the temperature to 39C at idle.
Will definitely play around with that more later on and report back. For now though, uploading pics of the ZeroShock case + my M1210...
