I wanted something more robust than Access but not at the level of Sybase, Oracle or MS SQL Server. I think my VS 2005 Pro has some dev version of SQL SQL2005 but I am sticking to MySQL for now.

I know that the tooling for MySql has improved quite a bit. You also might want to check out enterprisedb, which provides some nice tooling around postegres (also free) at http://enterprisedb.com/. I personally use 10g express edition bc of work etc, (http://www.oracle.com/technology/pro.../xe/index.html) its more lightweight than before and has a web based admin which is pretty slick.

I recommend anyone who is looking for a sleeve case for the Dell XPS M1210 get the JetPens Dr*Mo 12" Laptop Sleeve. It is about $10 cheaper than the Shinza duplicate but due to a more elastic material fits the M1210 better.
