I just got the Klipsch Promedia 2.1's last week and let me tell ya I LOVE THEM. Now Im going to get an audigy 2nx to go with them. I only have one question, to someone who might have the knowledge. Would I plug these speakers into the headphone line or the in-line of the audigy 2nx? Right now their plugged into my 5680 headphone jack.

You have to plug them into the Headphone In but if you can find a LINE-OUT on the sound card then USE IT!!!

Those are awesome speakers...dont drive the bass too high because I have managed to make the subwoofer warp on two separate pieces. The moment you hear distortion, DOWN WITH THE BASS!!

Im drooling over the 5.1 Ultra...dunno...seems a bit too pricey for what it really is

hmmm lets see here, there is a Side/Phones, MIC in, Line in, and SPDIF out. SO I would need a line out? whats the difference between in and out and why is only an in on the audigy 2nx? Even ifi plug them in the headphone jack they will sound a lot better than the AC'97 right? I think all the other plug-ins will be usless to me...

Yes it will sound cleaner than the AC'97 BY FAR!!! This circuitry is not affected by the rest of the electronics in the laptop.

Besides - this is a pretty nice card.

Plugging it into the headphone port will also give you nice results. Just mamke sure that you use the Klipsch volume control more than the Audigy volume control. i.e - keep the Audigy volume as low as possible while making sure that the Klipsch volume control is in the mid setting - while making sure you have a volume level that is just one step short of being loud. From here you change volume using the klipsch control and stop touching the audigy

The line in on the audigy is for you to connect SIGNAL LEVEL sources like the output ftom the LINE OUT of a Portable CD PLayer, Digital Audio Player etc.

Basically :-
=======

Preferred :-
---------

LINE OUT --> Amplifier --> Speakers

Tolerable :-
---------
Headphone Out --> Amplifier --> Speakers

cheers!

The default mark on the subwoofer volume control seems to be perfect on the Klipsch 2.1's (and I love good bass) the 2.1's are real nice. They Sound Great!!

I just got these speakers too. I understand now what you mean when you say don't have the bass too high... wow. Sounds like a freakin train is coming throughout the house even if you don't have the bass high (everyone loves that when late-night UT04 sessions are on). They serve a double purpose for me. I wasn't expecting them to be so great, just better than my 5680 speakers. I now have them connected to my tv as well and since my tv lets me control the external sound via remote, I don't have to get my lazy ass out of bed to turn the knob. Great speakers for their relatively low cost and without having to buy an external sound card.

Hey gs i just got the sound card a few days ago. it appears that the "front" speaker jack gives me better sound quality than the heaphones jack, is this typical?
