Alienware Aurora m9700 Review - Page 3

I wasn't trying to make a war, I was pointing out that the m9700 isn't the be all and end all of high performance, decent battery life systems.

My point is that saying the M1710 is a piece of shite is totaly moronic, the systems are very similair, and basing you argument on heat production is pretty stupid because the difference is low, 5 watts at most.

The entire point of my argument was just asking people not to dismiss the dell out of hand, and accept that yeah, it's a fairly good machine. If you can't accept that, then you are obviously more of a fan boy than pretty much anyone on th dell board.

It is a pretty damn good machine. And I would have gotten one if AW didnt come out with SLI notebooks. Honestly I dont think its fair comparing a non-SLI notebook to one without. Fair enough to say that 1710 is ranked pretty damn high(in the top 10 of most magazine rankings)

Remember apples to apples not apples to oranges. Until dell comes out with a SLI notebook, you just cant argue with the mALX or m9700

Okay, okay. I agree that the m9700 performs better, is a better design and is generally cooler. I just got carried away. Sorry.

Probably not... SLI is bad at oc'ing, but I'll concede that.

well, SLI is not "new" but it does overclock very well

Here is my desktop with 2x 7800GT's

i caon only publish one score (too cheap to buy it XD) but w/o OC my score was 8900

We've all gotten carried away once in a while. No worries.

LOL, you obviously don't know what you're talking about.

The Dell is inexpensive, and you'll get framerates. That's about it. Their systems are built to a pricepoint and the peripheral hardware they use is NOT top end. Sorry you don't understand that.

If all you want is an inexpensive solution, Dell may work for you, but to compare the systems head to head the AW wins regarding just about every peripheral in the systems.

Screens, memory, motherboards, drive options and makes, no choice AW beats Dell hands down.

You keep on believing what you want though, and keep misrepresenting what you said if it makes you feel better.

Keep posting responses to me like this:

... and you can thank me again.

I have no problem dealing with facts, but spending a lot of time responding to your BS only to see crap like this won't fly with me.

Seeing as you ended up buying the Arima, my point is proven.

I should say though that I recently received a lot of rep points, so I didn't realize my neg rep would do so much damage... I was going to pos rep you to fix it but I see you've already recovered.

Sure you can. The SLI vs. gtx is just a single component. You can compare the screens, motherboards, sound differences, options, etc... all day long, and the AW will win unless you don't understand hardware.

I don't have a problem with people that get what they want. Many people are happy with Dell, that's great. I also don't have an issue debating differences, but when you take the stance you did along with personal comments about the validity of people's points, basically calling me a liar, I'm going to respond.
