Most of the threads I have seen have been fairly constructive. I just wanted to get some opinions of owners of 2010's. It looked pretty interesting in concept, all expense aside.

There were a couple stand out posters in this thread.

Drinkmore... earned a neg rep from me. He quickly redeemed himself and earned 2 pos reps on some following posts. I laughed at how he summed up the 17+ forum.

Darkloki... always known his posts to be constructive and well pointed. He never flames anyone and that garners my respect. Lastly, he has posted pics of his hot girlfriend. I dig the hot chicks.

The quotable posting guy as Darkloki called him. He seemed to post a lot and use a lot of quotes in his posts. He had some good points in the midst of his quoting others.

Aside from this thread being what it is... I really can't think that I learned anything valuable about the 2010. Wait, people had a lot of opinions and those that didn't agree called them "idiots" or made "gay" references.

I am convinced that Dell introduced this product for members of forum boards to argue about it. There are 8 pages so far. If the thing had better graphics, I'd probably buy one. It's a pretty novel item.

Your rep don't mean jack until you hit 100 posts.

Frankly, the rep on this forum is labled as a game. You neg someone, and if they play the game they will just get positive repped back.

i ll argue that XPS = ultimate gaming machine in the class of notebook here’s why m1710= ultimate 17inch gaming notebook, and the xps m1210 = by far and away the very best 12 inch gaming notebook (By FAR!!!), and the xps 600 and 700 are quite obviously gaming rigs too, as the weakest card available in these desktops is a single 7900gs (which is still high end cuz 7900gs = 7800gtx if i recall correctly).

as far as i can tell all other xps systems ever made had the very best gpu's available to them, so yes XPS does = gaming.

now the xps 2010 is meant to be a gaming machine, it is the very best in it's class @ gaming, unfortunately there is no other type of computer in its class, and if u classify it as either a notebook or a desktop, it's just horrible overpriced and sux comparable @ gaming (i mean a 17 inch notebook which is cheaper out does it).

well ya i had this on my mind again b/c i am in the market for a gaming 12 inch notebook, and i searched high and low for a frustrating week, and finally i had given up, and headed off to dells site to see if there was such a thing as a 14 inch gaming notebook, that’s when i saw the m1210, and i was like "wtf, how did i forget about this lold, /cry, lold"

Techincal specs does not justify its price, some people would just buy it because of the "looking cool" factor, having one will somewhat decorate some home offices, space saving against a desktop, while it provide a bit portability if you really have to move it to some place.

As said before, it's not a laptop, (use the brain, why would a laptop has a detachable BT keyboard..) it's a portable desktop as Sony's W series. As for Sony's W series, they usually do not have highend videocard like this one, usually are onboard. With that said, these desktops are more for multimedia + looking cool purpose.

The reason why Dell put in bunch of useless elements into this desktop piece? (slot load dvd, 8 small speakers, 20.1" lcd attached to the thing, a handle, and a detachable BT keyboard...)
1. It looks hella cool.
2. To tell Sony that Dell can make stuff like that too
3. It appeals to early innovators

This piece will not appeal to majority of people like business users, gamers or casual computer users because of the price/performance ratio, an expensive price to majority of people (assuming money IS object), and.... it's still a desktop.

I am hoping to see some guy will DIY a portable desktop like that with some 20" lcd and a laptop base, doing crazy modification to it and making a thing like that. Chances are the performance will be better but the cost is way lower.

Overpriced doesn't necessarily mean stupid. My jaw dropped when I saw that thing -- it's beautiful! I'll take that over a mac any day of the week.

That was my thought on seeing it. I mean, why bother? Lookslike its meant as a TV replacement-low res and you sit further back from it.

Now, if it had a decent resolution and a better graphics card and - no, wait, its still over priced and under performing. And heavy.
