My M90 finally came in, with the second 24" LCD, so had to rearrange my desk to accomodate them both.

hrmm.. well from left to right

the upper row is a pair of stacked USB hubs, a power management center and a network hub.

the second row is a pair of firewire hubs, a cd burner, a dvd burner, a bunch of external HD's and a sound processing unit, as well as one of four power strips (the rest are obscured by the table legs).

and a lot of the background glowiness is coming from a bunch of glowing usb and firewire cables (makes it easier to dig around back there if I need to).

Indeed, though for a while I was playing less than I should (due to the computer I had). So I now have a lot of catching up to do (especially since being behind isn't all that acceptable in my profession). Thanks for the compliment

heh heh yeah, the open laptop is actually an older Inspiron 8200 in an advanced port replicator. it's basically serving as the file server for all those external drives you see under my desk (this way we can undock our other notebooks and access all the files via wi-fi from down by the pool). Not too sure that it's the best thing for a laptop to be doing... but it works. the laptop underneath is actually my M90. If I had more room I would have it opened up so that I could be running its screen in addition to the two 24"s plugged into it (since I have a second graphics card installed into the D/Dock). But as you can see my desk is already pretty crowded. - DH

Thanks for the compliment ^_^ I picked it up from a hobby importer called Hobbylink Japan. It's a really nice model, comes with the lighting kit and everything. Though, depending on how anal you are, it can be a pain in the buttocks to put together (which I am, so it was ^_~). - DH PS: I am considering modding it up so that it runs off of USB power instead of batteries (so I can leave it on all the time). If anyone knows of any good sites for info on that sorta thing I'd appreciate a heads up. PPS: A couple more pics of the Gundam so you can get a better look. ^_^

Take a USB cable and strip the end... check pinout voltage and find what pairs provide the 5v...

Your models lighting kit probably has specs for consumption.

Thanks for the tip. Any idea how to find ot specs for consuption if the lighting kit doesn't come with it? (is it as simple as adding up the voltage of all the batteries? ).

Also what should I do if the USB provides too much power? Is there a way to step it down?

Thanks again.

If you are asking about what brand USB hubs I use. I use mainly Belkin stuff.

I used to use DLink, but they ended up being too unreliable/skittish, so I switched over to Belkin and haven't looked back.

I have one of these on top of my desk (for easy access).

and three of these under my desk for everything else.
