WTH: not for resale software - Page 2

The software was free? It says NFR, you cant sell it. Sorry. Sorry to also see that others here give bad rep for you speaking your mind. Piracy does cost companies money. If you dont like a company because of thier size or busines practices, dont use thier products. If you work for a company and dont like customers calling you and complaining, get another job.

Did someone just drag out that tired 'piracy drives up prices' line again?

In Thailand, Microsoft is selling $30-50 copies of Word and Windows. These things are the real deal, Thai-only, commercial copies of their software.

Are you SERIOUSLY going to attempt to tell me that there isn't a problem with piracy in southeast asia?

I do appreciate you pointing this site out for everybody though. The price of XP Pro is only about 10 bucks cheaper than the going OEM street rate here, but I'll take that $10 any day. I really like the Microsoft vs Zamos case too on the Wikipedia page. The little guys wouldn't drop the case unless MS paid for the cost of printing their legal documents at the local Kinkos! Freakin' classic.

Thank you!

@Operaman, no you didn't neg me. It was the guy at the top of the page that said "enjoy your redness" because he knew his negging me would send me into red rep... which it did.

@the people who say "you cannot sell it under any circumstance." That is what this thread was for. An honest discussion about how these guys at the sites I linked to are getting away with it. I found it interesting and infuriating, because they're manipulating an already-weak American legal system. I agree with you, it should be traded, not sold. However, check the links I provided. It says in plain english right on their site that they are selling "Not For Resale" copies of the software. The chat discussions, however rude I may have been, show their justifications for it.

Not to make this another anti piracy thread, but:
Its proven, piracy drives up prices. Just because its not direct it does have an effect on the end price. Its also theft. The size of the company does NOT justify stealing thier work. And no matter what you do for a living, there is a way to pirate your work costing you money. I just get real tired of people who have NO morals justifing theft from someone because it benefits them and they see it as being victimless or that someone deserves it or can "afford" it. If someone steals from me, I want severe punishment only to prevent the next dishonest punk from doing the same. You cant blame companies, musicians, music studios, people that work for a living who want the same.
As for the windows server cd in the thread, He stated it was given to him and now he complains he cant sell it. Unlike Mr. Zamos who actually purchased his software.

Yeah right. This thread was not about a serious honest discussion about reselling those types of softwares. If it was you wouldnt be such an a$$hat towards the people who posted their minds about this subject.

Just because people dont agree with you they are wrong? I thought this was supposed to be an honest discussion....

you got 7 replies of people saying what they thought about the whole story, to wich you replied:

Someone close this thread please. I'll try getting a straight answer elsewhere. Geez.

That shows that you dont want to discuss, you just want to troll. I agree that this topic might have many different views, but if you can't take criticism, dont start a discussion (especially the way you did with such attitude).

About your rep, I felt bad for putting you down so deep in the red and I was going to put you back up but after seeing your other posts and your childish attempts to neg me saying "stfu noob", I think you deserve that rep.

In my defense, I did neg you but I didn't put stfu noob... At least, if I did I don't remember it. Stfu is not even on my list of things to say to people I'm displeased with. That, and me negging you isn't even as significant as a needle in a haystack.

im sorry you actually put "stfu asshole". And its the thought that counts

Lol. Now I feel bad. That's very uncharacteristic of me, I never say stfu or asshole, let alone put them together... I guess I'll take your word for it. For what it's worth, sorry dude.
