Linux Live CD on Sager 9750. Wireless?

Let me start by saying that I am a linux noob. I apologize if I have not included enough information, but this is all I have been able to find through the site I got the live cd from. Now, I can get the CD to boot and I log in and type startx. Everything seems fine, except it doesn't seem to recognize my network card. I can't get webpages or anything of the sort. I tried running some bash commands and had mixed results. When I used "iwconfig" it shows that there is wireless activity on ra0. But when I use "iwconfig ra0" it doesn't seem to do anything. Are there any other commands I can use to get this working. I would really appreciate any help because I am very new to this and rather clueless. Thanks in advance

Well, it might help to know what distribution you are using (although it doesn't matter that much).

Go to http://gentoo-wiki.com/HARDWARE_Clev..._RaLink_RT2500 . Specifically, do 'lspci -v' and check to see if you have the same card as the one shown on the gentoo page. If so, go to http://gentoo-wiki.com/HARDWARE_rt2500 and follow the instructions to install the drivers.

If you want more detailed instructions for your particular situation, please post what distribution you are using. Almost every distro has a LiveCD available now, and they all have a slightly different way of doing things. Another problem is that, since you are using a liveCD, we can only hope that the CD actually contains the packages you need to get wireless working. If not, download the appropriate packages to a USB drive and go from there.

If you get stuck, please post again.
