ATI 4.2 drivers

These seem to really help 5670 users with thier dx8 cards . Will post my findings.

Yeah, but at 23.8MB I think ATI is getting a little silly with their drivers...

It is still just a video card driver, right?! (yeah, I know the "control panel" and all that WDM crap is there, but 23.8MB!?!)

Maybe I'm just too old school, reflecting back when drivers were on FLOPPIES with plenty of room to spare.

Well everything runs better, UT2003 runs better than ever...but FFXI runs very very bad. I'm not talking about the game, but the play Online menu runs like crap . I'll wait until the omegas come out or something like that.

never depend on villagephotos/ripway... heck, I have a PAID account with them and often have problems with hosted photos.

Won't install for me..says something about how I need to install a new vga adapter or something, which I obviously already have..maybe it's because I downloaded the cheap dialup one. And I do agree - why does it have to be so big? What the heck is in there that makes it 24 mb?

yo violet... i can help...

go to driverheaven.com and dwnld their DHmodTool...

run it, then select the 4.2 drivers...

it mods the files to work with mobility cards...

Yeah! I have a CLEVO D470V 2.8 // 512 DDR333 // ati9600 350mhz 128mb 250mhz // 60Gb 4200rpm.

I had problems installing latest omegadrivers. The screen res. went to 800x600 and i couldn't get any better, even after reading all related posts. Everything didn't work!!!! :-/

Then, I downloaded ATI Catalyst 4.2 drivers and used Dhmodtool1.7.exe to hack it.
Now I run Catalyst 4.2 fine! No resolution mess ups!

I've run some test benchmarks on 3dmark03 and the run about the same score. previous bench = 2955
CAT 4.2 = 2933
