Bad XPS Gen 2

I bought mine as soon as they came out and ive had it for about a year. Well about half way through that it started having video issues. So i started calling tech support and the replaced the LCD, HDD, Video Card, and the MOBO. Still no change so the said they would replace it. The problem now it wont come on with it plugged in so i have to use it untill the battery is almost dead and then shut it down to let the battery charge this is only a temp thing because they are sending me a new one. What kind of replacement will i get seeing that they do not have the XPS Gen 2 anymore?

Does it give you a message telling to to plug in the 130w adapter?> I had that issue with my XPS2 a long time ago & they sent me a new power brick & everything has been fine, since.

...Hopefully they will send you a 1710 ... if they do my XPS2 might just have an accident lol

Well it was just yesterday that they replaced the MOBO and they decided to replace it last night. When i got on this morning i couldnt get it to come on unless i un plugged it.

I hope that they send me some thing that has a dual core proc and 100gb 7200rpm HDD because i have now a 2.0ghz single core proc and 100gb 5400rpm HDD. As long as it has my Gig of ram and and atleast 6800 Ultra go in ill be happy tho.

I will and from what Ive heard is that dell doesnt want you to say anything bad about them so they make you happy and maybe the new one i get wont go bad after a year. I called a friend of mine that works at the call center here in nashville and he said that they dont make the m170 anymore so i was getting either a red or black 1710. He said the stats would be better than what i have now by far. I only wish i had a way to find out whne it will be here. All they gave me was a DPS number and i dont know where to put it in at on there site to find anything out. The specs i was told I would get was 2.0 dual core, 512 7900GTX, 100Gb 7200rpm HDD, 1GB 677 ram, wireless, and BT

......."almost" makes me want to "accidentally" drop my XPS2 and see what happens (I do have CompleteCare).

Of course I could never bring myself to drop my laptop, so that's beside the point -- not after I killed the hard drive in an old 486 by doing that.

I should let one of our tanks "accidentally" run mine over, but I don't want to be without a laptop while I'm out here... any idea how long it takes for a replacement to happen?
