I'm gona start shoping around for a coolmaster later, if I find a good deal I'll post a link (i think I saw one for like $35+shipping before when I was hunting for reviews on coolers in general), would anyone else whos planing on getting one do the same?

My balls never itch. They just hang low as it is. When it gets as hot as it has gotten, they hang even lower.
When you use your computer, are you naked and in a horse stance? When I wear clothes and sit they just cling to my legs. Whoa! ew2x4 out of left field! Thats one pretty strange association, why exactly does hot weather induced sweating remind you or geriatric relations?

I was just trying to find something of similar awkwardness. I laughed through most of this thread though, so no worries.

I had a sort of hole in the wall, that lead out the eves and thence to outside, so I just used that for exhaust. It worked really nicely.

I have the Notepal Coolermaster for my 9400 and true it does't sit flat on it, but I don't think it's supposed to, otherwise the fans in the cooler would be useless and not circulate any air underneath. The results I have are mixed. It does keep the underside cool which is important for preventing battery deterioration. It's quiet, and it allows for you to use the laptop on your lap. It's quiet and it fits in the dell laptop case that it comes with. There is some overhang in the back, but since you wrest your palms usually on the front of the laptop while typing, it stays solid. I think it's worth it for the cool underside and keeping the battery cool, as well as being able to use the laptop on any surface now.. bed, couch, lap, etc.. and not cooking your balls.

Well, I've done some more looking into this and I'm not sure if we really need an active cooler. There are a couple of passive coolers that might do the job.

looks good

so does

This thread: http://www.notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=156297 has another one I'm looking at http://laplogic.com/current/html/home.html

I think I'm going to try one of these if there is enough demand out there I'll review it when I get my m1705.

I think that first one is a heat shield for your lap rather than a 'passive cooler'. My passive cooler is 4 film container lids under the feet of the laptop.

Newegg doesnt ship outside of USA, so for us cannucks this is the best Ive found so far http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicatio...8903&CatId=215
