i have decided to overclock my gpu and i downloaded the ISO file from http://www.notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=117648

i burned the file to a CD using the sonic software. when try i to boot from the CD however, nothing happens and i am taken to the windows xp/recoevry console menu (what normally happens).
i did press F12 when the DELL screen appears and i selected boot from cd/dvd drive

Yeah, a right way and a wrong way. did you just select an iso/udf multisessiona and stick the image on the disk? Or did you actualy burn the image to the disk? If youre using nero go recorder>burn image.

I'd recomend investing a little time researching the project before you put your fancy card on the line. Having a thurough understanding of all that youre doing is recomended when you could potentialy ruin your gtx. Personaly I wouldnt feel comfortable stumbling through it.

Also, verify the written data once you burn the disk and MAKE SURE there are no scratches, hairs specs of dirt or ANYTHING on the cd, if it cant read even a couple of bits when youre flashing the bios it could botch it, and I'm not sure if you'd be able to navigate your way through blind.

Good luck
