sub $100 speakers

I used to be set on 5.1's, but I don't know if it's necessary. I will be playing music constantly, but also gaming and playing dvds. Is it that much better? I figured I would go for Logitech Z640.

I'm not too up to date with the 2.1s on the market. Preferably, I'd get something from best buy. Any suggestions?

If you want awesome sound quality with your portable CD Players, Digital Audio Players AND if you want good sound out of your laptop all in ONE PORTABLE SOLUTION then become an audiophile

Go to www.ttvj.com and order a Grado SR-60 headphones...take em with you wherever you go for better sound than any $5000.00 pair of speakers can afford!!

You will never be able to thank yourself enough for taking my advice

I knew you would probably suggest those

I am thinking about getting those later to replace my broken KSC 35, but I was worried about too much sound leak (for librabries and what not). But seeing how they're so damn good, I don't see myself not buying them anyway

Still it would be nice to have speakers to just listen to music in my room. Headphones are veratile, but I don't always want to wear them.

I hate BOSE but those mediamates are nice value. I am thinking purely in terms of portability and size...I could set up the Bose in the train if I had to

If portability is not an issue then you HAVE to get one of these :-

Altec Lansing ATP3 - VERY nice for the money...

Some of the Creative 2.1 offerings are also very sweet sounding...

have fun choosing

I enjoy my set of Acoustic Energy Aego 2's. They also were available in a 5.1 channel version.

The Grado headphones really do sound good but I get claustraphobic when I wear headphones.
