I hope I am not duplicating previous question. I looked for hours and did not find anything for the C640. I have been told that the maximum RAM for this unit is 1Gb and also been told 2Gb. Dell says max is 1Gb. Others have said Dell can not claim 2Gb, due to some type of support issue. I currently have 256x2 for 512. Will I notice a substancial difference between 1 and 2GB. If not I will just go with 2x512. I know I have to keep them matched to keep DDR in dual mode. Next, should I go with PC2100 or PC2700. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have this memory installed in my Inspiron 14R. 6gb (one 2gb & one 4gb). Great performance! I highly recommend Kingston.

Well what can I say, I needed that little bit of extra storage that as a family we could all use. After searching around I narrowed it down to three suppliers, not the cheapest, but all well...

I purchased this Nook Color specifically because I was taking a very long trip to China and wanted to be able to read without carrying a ton of books. I also liked that it had email capability...

Another stupid f'in assumption on my part
I hope you can excuse my ignorance, but in my mind DDR ram was dual channel. I have since educated myself and know the difference. My Latitude has 200 pin DDR PC2100 256Mb x2 now and I want to upgrade. I did not think that going with 2Gb ram would be benificial. I am just going to go with 512x2. Being my machine is not dual channel, does it matter if ram is not matched? Also, something I just found while surfing, My processor FSB is 400Mhz. Site says I should go with closest memory to match CPU clock speed. Should I then go with PC3200 memory to match the CPU. I know I can go up to PC2700. Anyone know if it would work, matter or even help?

Crucial.com's configurator only shows you compatible memory. There is no reason to match sticks, and the fsb has nothing to do with the memory speed.
