If you reformat you 8600 will that void your warranty?

someone told me that if you reformat and erase all the stuff on your 8600 that it voids your warranty, i hope not cause i have a copy of media center edition and pro that i gotta decide on cause i dont want home and i dont want the dell stuff on mine, any input?

That someone deserves a slap on face. Why do you suppose they include a restore cd with every laptop (all companies including dell) if someone told me my 300 dollar warrenty was void because i reformatted the hardrive then i shouldnt be shopping at this company.

I don't think so I did a fresh install of XP only loaded the drivers that I wanted. Had a screen prob, Dell asked if I had loaded or deleted anything and I told them yes. Long story short....

Getting a brand new 8600 next week.
