Hi,

@first: sorry for my english becuase I am from Germany

I bougt an np9890 last summer from cyber-system (an german reseller from clevo) but I think sager has the same Notebook and its called np9890 (am I right??^^).

I now got the Vista Beta 2 for MSDN guys and tried to install it. I created an new "Partition(I hope its the right word for a part of the Harddrive ) and everything was fine ... I restartet my Notebook (my shortcut: nb^^ dont know if u use it^^) I restarted to install it and it showed me the install menu enterd the key. But then I had to choose on Which HDD it should be installed and I realised that there was only my external hdd.... I tried to put in the Driver for the SATA/RAID controller (WIN XP Promise SATA378 (tm) IDE Controller) [the controller is called SATA378 TX2plus(tm). But after I enternd the Driver there was still only my external hdd.....
So I tried to install it onto my ex. hdd and everxthing was fine...files were unpacked and installed (!!) then he had to restart to do something(which is ok....it was also written that the computer will restart some times while installation) so I didnt worried about it. But then when the BIOS(or whatever is loaded first when u start the nb^^) then the vista setup got laoded...or it should have been loaded because @once there was a BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH!!!!!! I think its because vista is not able to work with the Driver and it has to put the bootmanager or something onto my interal hdd (C:/) and thats not possible.
I tried to install it by putting the DVD in when Win. is booted there I saw all ma HDDs and I tried to install it but when he rebooted he sayed NTLDR is not availeble....(I think I saw the same shortly before the BSOD came!!

Can anybody help me??

sry for my bad english

is there anybody from the "old german forum 3d-notebook"??????????? which is now closed????

Vista will not run from an external HDD. You need to put the WinXP Promise Drivers on the root directory of the floppy.

I tried everything....I put the driver stuff which was in an folder out of the folder directly onto the cd(I also tried this with Floppy)but it did also not work......Vista is recognizing the drivers....but I thing they are not compatible or something.....dont know...please please please help me

Put only these files on the floppy with no folders
ptipbm.dll
ULSATA.CAT
UlSata.inf
ulsata.sys

When the Vista Setup gets to the point where it asks which Drive to put it on, select load the drivers from the floppy. Also make sure you USB Floppy Drive is plugged in before you boot from the DVD.

now vista recognizes all my HDDS!!!

BUT: there is stilll a problem: When everything is nearly done (the computer is restartet for the 2nd time and the build number is shown in the down left corner...there is a problem:
it says in an "problem popup":"Vista could not be installed! please try again!"(sry for the wrong word(s)^^)

I tried to install it again and there was the same Problem!!!
