The Beauty Of: Half Life 2: Episode 1

I did this for Lost Coast the day it came out, and now that you truly can see full HDR rendered in the entire game, here's some shots.

It is VERY interesting to note, I am on a 6800 with a slight, slight O/C. I could run 1900x1200 Full HDR, at the sacracifice of AA/FA, which could of helped in some spots, but running at the res it didn't really matter. I was about 25FPS in the entire game, so it should run like hell for the M1710 and the M170 with 7800GTX. Man I can't wait for my new M1710 so I can crank everything up!

It's well worth it, expecially when you consider a movie on DVD is around the same, and it's shorter than this, and I had way more fun playing this than watching 95% of other movies. And it looks amazing!

I thought I'd try this out for comedy value on my X1400 E1705... it auto-defaults to max settings at 1024x768, but performs very poorly all-round.

That said, even my 7800GT desktop system jerks a fair bit at 1920x1200.

I cant run it at native res with hdr enabled. Runs and looks great without though.

Just bought it from Steam. Going to see how it runs in my lappy.

sw33t dude! I know where my next $20 is going.

Oh yeah. Plays like a dream on my lappie, with everything on, (1440x900). I sometimes felt like I was playing a movie

I was seriously just about to post some screenshots of this. The water in the game is simply amazing. You can break the crates and the broken pieces of two by fours will float in a very realistic manner. I usually end up getting my ass whooped just cause I'm looking at how pretty everything is. And the game runs flawlessly on my M1710 at max settings.

Edit* Here are two shots I just took.

Yeah I beat it yesterday and it was a great experience. The graphics were just stunning as you can see from the screen shots. I ran it 1440x900(non-native) with everything else maxed. I didn't have vsync on, but I didn't notice any tearing so it really doesn't matter. It was amazing to see the game running that well on my 6800.

I can't wait for Episode 2. Looks like it will be alot of fun, but it is too bad we probably will not be fighting alongside Alyx for that one.

Actually I am not saying that Alyx gets killed. She doesn't not get killed at the end of Episode 1. I said that we won't be fighting with her because there was an interview that I read that Episode 2 will not be all about fighting with Alyx. They said that vehicles will be more involved in ep 2.

O and I'm guessing that you were joking, but I thought that I would put that in for anyone that hasn't finished the game. I am not saying she dies, just that in ep 2 we are not supposed to be fighting alongside her as much.
