Wow this looks interesting... and expensive. I really think this is what we're going to need in future notebooks though. Two cards is just way too much heat, space, and power, but a dual-core GPU makes a lot of sense for notebooks.

edit: actually this is just two PCB's stuck together with a new PCI-E switching technology, not any new core architecture... bugger!

It's not dual core. It's dual separate and distinct core(s) on a single PCB. There's "buzz" the G80 might very well be a true dual core, but until something serious and official comes out, it's all just speculation.

I'm not too "wowed" by the specs, either. Seems all the 7950s might do is drop the price of the 7900GTXes.
