Z96J or Z70Va

I'm debating between these two laptops and can't decide which to go with, suggestions? I know the Z96J isn't out yet and just looking at the specs below, it seems like you'd be a fool to go with the Z70Va, but maybe there's something I'm missing? Anything I should know?

Z96J
15.4" SXGA+ Screen
ATI Radeon x1600 (256 MB)
Intel Centrino Duo Mobile Processor (1.83 GHz my config)
Battery Life: 2.5 - 3.0 hours
6.8 lbs
$1373.37 - My config cost.


Z70Va
15.4" SXGA+ Screen
ATI Radeon x700 (128 MB)
Intel Pentium M Processor (2.0 GHz in my config)
Battery Life: 4+ hours
6.5 lbs
$1379.14 - My config cost.

well for starters, the Z70Va comes with a WSXGA+ screen at 1680 x 1050 resolution, while the S96J is 1280 x 768. Also it doesn't have a battery life of 4+ hours. perhaps if you do some serious underclocking and do nothing on the computer. i'd say 3+1/2 hour sounds about right. the Z70Va case is made form a plastic/carbon fiber mix that is pretty solid. comes with a matte screen, while the S96J is a glossy. if u need power (gpu/cpu/and RAM), or a glossy screen, the s96j is the better choice. if u want better looks, higher res matte screen, and more battery life, the z70va is a good choice.

Actually I'm talking about the Z96J which is the same as the S96J except with a higher res. (WSXGA+) screen. It's suppose to come out later this month.

I think he's referring to the Z96J that's coming out in the next couple weeks. Identical to the s98j except with SXGA+ and Bluetooth. Anyways, many people on these forums seem to like the s96j, and the z96j will probably be almost a clone of it. However, I would wait to see what the people say who actually buy them and review them, because the display will be different and its quality is not known yet. And by the way, where the hell did you get a pricepoint like that? Unless you were just buying the barebone and processor... with RAM, HDD, etc., you will be looking at more of a $1800 pricepoint for the Z96J

oh damn my bad...i dunno why i kept thinking u were talking about the s96j...prob cuz the z96j isn't out yet...and there's no confirmed date on it coming out...many dates floating around but nothing firm. could be even next month. z96j is pretty much an upgraded barebone of the z70va. if u can get it for the same price of course the z96j is the right choice

The S96J actually says "Z96J" on the bottom and in the BIOS. They are the same thing machine except screen, bluetooth, and warrenty.
