, perhaps. But I got G-Skill 'cause I know it rox. OC'ing, well... I have never tried it before (you guessed it, I am noob ), but this makes me want to take the plunge.

Not specific to G-Skill but the RAM that came with my M1710 stopped me from reaching 10k.

The ONLY time I've had ram hold me back on an OC, and wasn't faulty ram, was trying to raise FSB to ridiculous amounts on a 2.4C trying to hit 4.0

Never did get it, but stuff I was using at the time wouldn't let me get past 3.3, picked up some BH5 and cranked up the juice and hit 3.8.

If you have quality ram, that isn't defective and the same timings, I can't really see it holding back a 3d05 score unless you are fiddling with the frontside.

I know it sounds strange but this is what I get

Same everything except ram:
(Dell) Hynix 2GB = 9989, 9962, and 9987
Transend 2GB = 10010, 10055, and 10023

It must be the quality of RAM Dell is giving us. Because that is a pretty good difference in points.

Can someone tell me the best drivers to use for 3DMark05? I have tried XG_MobileForce_84.56_v2.40 and I was curious if there is a better set.

That looks like a ~20-100 point difference wich equates to less than 1% percent difference. I see that much of a difference from one cycle to the next in 3DMark 05 with out making any changes.

.1% of 10k yes but how much of a difference do you think it would translate into a memory benchmark for example?

I have run 10 tests with the Hynix RAM and Transsend.

With the Hynix I never got over 9965
With the Trans I got a top score of 10073

Man I wish I could get 600 on my 7800GTX Go card Oh well I guess 450 is decent. Anyways congrats on those who broke 10K. Questions though, what were your guys temps, I am wondering how much cooler these new 7900's run.

The lowest system specs for the m1710 gets over 8000.

The CPU really does help out the scores, according to the specs and scores being posted.

Someone needs to get a T7200/T7400 merom in a M1710 and test it.

I am pretty sure Zyb used a Merom in his 10k benchmark because 3dmark05 is not registering the cpu correctly.

My house is usually about 70-75 degrees and the fans are on high.

Here is a screenshot

7800 GTX I had was clocked at 460x1200 and would get up to 80 degrees in the same conditions.

Whats the program you are using at the top of the screenshot? The one with the Osciliscope?

Yes in 05 and 06 B/C the cpu score is included in the overall score, and core Duo's being dual core gives the score a slight boost, but not much. But 10K on a laptop is just insane, its 8 pounds, and is completely portable and the fact its quiet in idle operation, and destroys most desktops, but you do pay for the portable aspect

Also (finally) reached the 10k with clocks only @ 650/700, this surprises me cause with 650/725 I only get 9870 and with 625/725 I get 9950. Temperature is idle 59° Celcius and 71° Celcius during and after 3DMark. Looped 3Dmark for an hour and 650/700 is stable but I think I will go back to 625/725 in order to don't fry my card.

You and your big 3dmark scores, I hate you all so much.

My 7800 is going to bed without dinner tonight.
