Are you kidding? Everyone who has ordered one has reported a shipping date of June 22d.

Just have to wait

Mine isn't expected to be delivered until 6/27

check the other threads...some of the people have reported theirs as being shippped already. They should be getting them any day now.

Once someone gets theirs, I'd be very interested to know how good the video quality is when an LCD monitor is plugged into the VGA port. This is a big deciding factor for me. I own a 700m and it looks terrible plugged into my 23" running at 1900x1200...

I'm guessing that the 7400go will do a MUCH better job than the intel integrated graphics in rendering the video to an external monitor...we shall see.

Yeah, I definately agree. I'd hate to sell my 700m and get a 1210, and have the 1210 do as poor a job as the 700m dishing out to external LCD...

I will check on both my 2005FPW and my 27" Olevia LCD TV when I get it. It's in testing now, so hopefully by the early-mid next week.

Thank you very much. Looking forward to reading your results.

it's gonna look the same. i've seen it (on the M1210 with a 7400 as well as a 700/710 with integrated graphics).

it's not the chip, but the way it is output.

both the 700/710m and the M1210 do not have a DVI port (which is digital)... it uses an analog RGB 15-pin - which use a digital analog converter (DAC) which never looks great when its output to an LCD (cuz an LCD is digital, not analog like traditional CRTs back in the old days)

the larger the LCD, the perceived sharpness will look worse cuz it amplifies the "blurry-ness" of analog signal on an LCD.

if u want nice crisp images on your 24" LCD, don't get the M1210. get something with DVI output.

According to the tracking number I should receive mine today, but i've seen FedEx underestimate to Hawaii so it may show up tomorrow.

Thanks for the response, bluemonkey. I'd agree with you normally (and was disappointed to find out that the 1210 didn't have a DVI port). But, I recently hooked up my LCD to the VGA out port of my video card in my desktop. The display was not as nice as the DVI port from the same card, but it was definately acceptable, and a huge amount better than the 700m driving the panel. So, my hope is that with a better card in the 1210, that the output will be much better than the 700m.

Did you compare them at the same time (the 700m and the 1210)?

Yes, would be ideal to have a DVI port - but with a decent card, VGA to LCD can look reasonably good. Anyone else want to confirm or deny? Would like others opinions. Really hoping the 1210 is gonna be good

You better take photos or be banned from the boards!

Haha, no problem. Will do forsure. Getting pretty ancy I might just go down to the FedEx place and pick it up in person since I have a feeling they won't deliver it till tomorrow.

yeah, compared them at the same time... it's not bad on both lappies, but not great, either.

once u've seen how crisp a digital output is on an LCD's native resolution (DVI), it's hard to go back.

booo, that makes baby jesus cry. I had high hopes that the better graphics card would result in better results than the 700m. DVI is key, for sure, but, darn, I was hopeful.

Well, probably saving me a lotta money, though... , although I will wait and see on others opinions.

Thanks again, bluemonkey.

Make sure you let us know how the Merom runs!

I said it in another thread, but the more it's spread the better, I suppose. Of course, not having the laptop yet I have no idea of verifying whether it's true or not.:

This page explains a possible fix for the keyboard bulge. It's pretty strangely worded though, so it's a little hard to make sense of. The photos almost help. Still, better than nothing.

They did send me a CD for the audigy with a code without me paying the 25 bucks so thats cool. Merom works great its been sitting on the bed without very good ventilation for about an hour now and its just warm. Now i'm going to reinstall windows and install some stuff!
