for some reason the palm rest doesnt look as rubberized as the 4000...?!

Just the way the picture turned out. Aside from the X2 sticker and the area around the power button/empowering keys, its identical to the 4000's keyboard area. Edit: Hmmm.... now that I look closer you might be right... the touchpad buttons look black also.

That's Acer's Bluetooth VoIP phone. It already comes with some of their notebooks (including the TravelMate 8204WLMi) in some markets, and works in both regular and speakerphone mode, as well as folding up to insert into your PCMCIA slot for recharging.
