MX7118 any upgradability?

Thread Starter
Hi.. question for Mx7118 owners out there, since I can no longer find anything about this model on Gateway's website... is the video upgradeable on this laptop? or is it permanently embedded?

Thankyou.

according to the spec, it is integrated - 64mb shared max is all it delivers

No, but!
You can increase the video memory from 64mb to 128 by going into your BIOS, by pressing F2 at the gateway boot screen. Press the right arrow key and you should see UMA frame something. sorry I forgot what it is exactly called, but it has 64MB next to it. scroll over it and hit enter and you can see the options. When you restart you might get continous beep. just restart again. it happens sometimes idk why. You might get a BSOD error in vista, but in XP I know it works.

GOOD LUCK!
