Ive been beta testing for a while...I wouldnt recommend using it as a main O/S. I have been doing that on this build, but a lot of software still isnt supported...game performance isnt really affected, but you WILL need to install nVidia drivers for games to work as the current vista built in ones dont have OpenGL.
A lot of antivirus software doesnt work on it either...only a few specific ones.
Hardly any virtual drive software works, only the "burning ROM" part of Nero 7 works.
To get the sound (headphones and subwoofer) working on the 9300 you need to extract the setup files from the Dell EXE file and set the SETUP.EXE to XP SP2 compatibility mode, then install and reboot...dont use the drivers from the Windows Update in Control panel.
The ALPS driver will not install with the EXE...you need to extract the files from the EXE and then go to device manager, go to the mouse, click update driver and point to the extracted files and go from there.
FOr defrag, few pprograms work, the latest O&O Defrag software works
I would recommend creating a new partition and dual booting it with XP.
