The CompuTek Taiwan show had the R1f on display, but I don't think any more info was given besides that. Though, it is rumoured to be a barebone!

3 months ago, when I met Asus Taiwan notebook PM, we talked about this whitebox tablet, I strongly suggested whitebox to him, but at that time we both realized one thing, where does the system builders get the OS if ship whitebox, at least I don't see any windows tablet version on the Market, if MS is willing to provide the tablet OS bundle with R1F, then we have good chance to get it, otherwise it will be an ensemble.

Here are some pics from the Spring 2006 UMR "Exotic Technology Showcase".
[should have posted these earlier]

ASUS Ensemble Notebooks on the left wall...

Motherboards, LCD, and other nice stuff in the middle of showroom.

Freebies and prizes in the back...

...ridiculous Vento gaming system no one will leave alone in the front.
Free c9tech anodized aluminum bottle opener keychains still available [first come, first serve... e-mail for details].
Speakers were custom built by our own Jeff, and can be ordered direct from us [again, e-mail for details].

R1F Conversion Tablet [open].
Fingerprint scanner on the bottom left of LCD... oh ya.

R1F Conversion Tablet [closed as tablet]

So I thought I would butter you up with some pics before I told you that nothing is confrimed [still] regarding the R1F in the North American market. Good news though, demo units [for resellers, etc] should be arriving within the next month or so... If all goes well, hopefully ASUS will be getting these out for sale soon after.

Most everyone here should know that anything from ASUS that isn't confirmed... is not confirmed.

When I talked to Asus today, I was told R1F might be here in about a month from now on, things are not very firm yet, S6F should be about the same time, it is firmer than R1F.

Definitely unconfirmed at this point...
