I'll backup my files to another HDD, and format the main one. I'll see during the summer if I need/want to leave the quickplay partition. It's a work computer, so the extra GB is probably more valuable than ability to play movies before booting. Anyways I quite rarely watch any films on my computer. And music only while I'm working.

I don't have that many programs that I need, so installing them is a breeze. Only adobe family and some more specialized stopmotion animation related programs. Usually it takes less than hour for the lot.

You might want to snag a copy of the HP's QuickPlay v2.0 install cd while you can. Along those lines someone had posted the current units are shipping with QuickPlay v2.1... They had posted something to the effect that the "re-install /install files where in the C:\SwSetup folder....

Please check your unit upon upon receipt and if this indeed the case upload the requried files somewhere.

(Note: The install files only allow the QP to be installed on a HP QP enabled machine.)
