Okay I know this laptop is kinda old but I need to know. The GPu in it, the 6600TE, is it different than the normal 6600? If so how much is it crippled and is it easy to get it back to/higher than stock clocks? Failing that does anyone have an M4 they are willing to open up and take a very detailed photo of the gpu? pweeeeeeeeeease?

According to http://www.nvidia.com/page/go_6600.html the 6600TE is an OEM version of the 6600.

There was quite a discussion about this GPU in the tecra M3 almost a year ago. IIRC the clocks are turned down about 25% from a regular 6600. I'm sure if you searched for info on teh M3 the thread will come up.

could someone (preferably who owns the M4/M3) run 3Dmark 05 on it? I just want a comperison between it, my current one, and the Gateway model.

Thanks

Mike Check.

P.S. Is the M3 EXACTLY the same as the M4 without the turable screen thus making it a tablet?

As far as I can tell fom the specs the M4 is a tabletized M3, everything else looks to be the same. I'd try and pull up the benchmarks that people posted before, but my internet connection is unbearably slow right now.

okay I found it. Even at clocks higher than mine it still performed worse (2444 as opposed to 2747) and those clocks were like 1.5 times higher than mine. I must've misread it or something. But either way I think I'll wait for the new lines to come out. Thanks anyway

It runs at 225mhz core and 200mhz memory so it'll be slow.

But it beats the pants off the x300 in my dell.
