Vista: What????

I have seen the specs for Vista.I want the windows areo thing,but my dell laptop has a 1.6ghz centrino solo,but the minium is 1ghz does it matter with laptops???

I dont understand processors very well please could someone put my in the right direction.

your 1.6ghz pentium m will do just fine. the 1.0ghz minimum requirement that vista addresses applies more to older generation processors before the pentium m and the pentium 4. but microsoft is known for setting the minimum standard too low for adequate usability. for example, the minimum ram requirement for windows xp was 128mb. a lot of users who have 256mb ram can barely run windows xp and other applications. i was one of them. to me, 128mb is the bare minimum to run windows xp and only windows xp. this is only my best assumption though. stay aware that vista is still in beta and the final release is still quite far away. the hardware requirements may change with or without notice. but taking into account the expectations of vista now, the pentium m is very efficient at such a modest speed and 1.6ghz will serve you well as you transition into the world of vista.

i updated my original post. but the post fortune remains the same. i love my post fortunes no matter how dumb they may be. most of it i make up off the top of my head. this is partly the reason why my screen name is toshiaki. other than that, this is the second time you are heckling me, and i'm in a good mood so i'm not going to grill you this time as i did last time. besides, i like you man. i read some of your posts in off-topic. pretty funny friend. i'm not the person that bombs on other funny people. i kind of feel that its a taboo to mess with other comedians. anyway, i'm glad again that you're honest with me. i know some of my posts are retarded, but i stay happy, because thats who i am. but other than that, if you don't have much to contribute to this thread other than bag on the fortunes, you could have just sent a pm to me personally saying that my post fortunes are dumb. be happy friend.
