I see a lot of people monitoring their CPU and GPU temps...what is a good program for doing this? I downloaded coolbits, but have no idea how to incorporate it into the BIOS...is there a good downloadable program that is 'plug and play'?

Is this still true, especially for duel core processors?

yeah im pretty sure that I9kfangui still works on dual core laptops, before i was thinking *centrino hardware control* had the same properties as I9kfangui but after thinking CHC will not run on Dual Core but im pretty sure that I9kfangui will work for you, download it real quick and if i dosent work then just delete it, no biggie.... But get back to us if fangui does not work and then Ill search around for it real quick

I was wondering the same thing, someone pointed me in the direction of I8kFanGUI...I think it's supposed to be better suited to dual core setups. It's working great for me so far. If the I9k doesn't work out for you in the end, check this thread out http://www.notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=153915

if you "X" the program window out. then the stock fans will reset.... if you "minimize to tray" then your fan settings will remain the same as you had them set at.
