XTreme-G MobileForce 91.31-v2.40 RELEASED!!! - Page 2

Swat did you remove the dell drivers first. It may not matter but just in case your not sure for next time....go to Control panel/ add/remove programs/select 'nvidia'

Then reboot into safe mode (F8) and run a program called driver cleaner pro which you should download. Just select 'nvidia' then clean. This makes sure that all the traces of old drivers are removed.

Boot back into windows and then install new drivers.

Doesn't work..

Yup. Uninstalled drivers, safe mode, driver cleaned, installed. Read the FAQ on the site to make sure first

I think what he meant was, After uninstalling and cleaning drivers in safe mode.............when you boot back into windows, the 'new hardware found' pops up. Just tell it to look in the Xtreme-g folder you extracted the drivers to. Then it will install the drivers that way. This method can be used instead of running the setup.exe

Is that equivalent to the method of running setup.exe? Setup.exe also installs some services, configures a few startup tasks, etc. Is all of this done with the other method as well?

But, independent of that, if setup.exe does not run, it still means that the package Tony offers for download right now is broken.

Well using the method other than setup.exe, It still did install the control panel etc. and I don't notice anything missing and the drivers r running great.
True it still means that the download package is broken.

Looks like you might be on to something Pirx, setup.exe didn't work, but I'm thinking it was needed for something. Here's what I get when I bootup:

I get the same thing at startup, plus at shutdown, I get a nvc32svc.exe crash dialog...back to the stock Dell drivers.
From what I understand, the error is because these drivers have been set to detect SLI cards aswell. Its just saying that SLI is disabled because basically you don't have a SLI card. It doesn't appear to effect performance at all.

I do not get the the nvc32svc.exe error like you though lancorp.
Those worked great, but can we get ones that aren't for SLI cards.

I got about 10-20 fps more out of Tomb Raider Legend, however I did see a major glitch in water textures that is not there with the 91.28 drivers.

I had the problem installing and got the SLI error after reboot.

Is there supposed to be a performance increase or a picture quality increase with these drivers? I'm just wondering if mine didn't "stick" because of a botched install, as I got the exact same 3dMarks as my stock Dell drivers.

For those who had problems with Setup not working, redownload the driver and reinstall (DriverCleaner, etc.). I honestly don't know what's up with this driver, but the one from NVIDIA is missing files, and the one from LaptopVideo2Go has a bunk Setup. This one shouldn't have any problems like that.

The setup is working now, but I still get the SLI error on reboots. Nothing serious, just a little annoying.

I'm not a big fan of the new control panel.. Its probably a change for the better, and is more user friendly, but I'm not a fan of change. It just feels too bulky. I liked how everything was in a tidy little tabbed window before, but now I have to sift through stuff to find basic settings.. I'll get used to it though. It'll help newer users learn how to operate their video business, and it's pretty good looking.. just not my style. How do the rest of you feel about it and is there a way to revert back to the "classic" style menu?

Alright, so the picture is, a bit better now, but still broken...

I for one won't install a crucial piece of driver software on my machine that habitually throws out error messages because it's misconfigured. I'll wait for a driver that actually works.

This driver wants to believe that all notebooks have SLi on them, and I haven't figured out how to disable that, unfortunately. It's not going to degradate performance or do anything to harm your computer, the driver just simply wants to believe that SLi is enabled, and presents the user with a message saying that SLi is disabled.

91.31 is a solid driver, but there are quirks (just like this one). However, no one can expect a perfect driver. It just won't ever happen . If I find a way to disable the message from popping up, I'll definitely post it, but don't let it stop anyone from trying the driver out .

I don't get any sli error message at all, but I don't see any performance increase over 84.25 either.
Yea I get the message everytime I boot. No way I can handel that it also launches a site with SLI info. But they do run well. But as I said that would drive me nuts every time I boot. Bummer as theese seem to do pretty good for the short time I had them instaled.
