I'm on my extended warranty as well, and sager gave me a call back this morning to tell me that I needed to contact Warrantech because they were responsible for repairs now that I'm past the Sager warranty
I called Warrantech and they were claiming I didn't have an extended warranty.
Turns out there was a second warranty number that I had to register. I registered it today and they are saying it will take 10 days to enter their system. 10 days? What kind of lame system is that? They must be using the ultimate database solution, Access (TM).
I *hope* it went through.
I called them again and they were claiming a) they didn't have my information b) I'm not covered anymore. Things went a bit better when I got a little angry. I hope they don't plan to stall until my warranty expires.
I know nobody cares ... but I called Warrantech today and they said they'll ship me the box. They gave me a number for Micromedics, etc. He said there was nothing in my notes about already having sent a request to micromedics. So the guy I spoke with a week ago lied about sending out the box. Hoping this mess will be over before my warranty expires
Micromedics says "logic board is defective" (as expected) and "cannot locate replacement parts" (also expected). They want to send it to Sager, but are waiting for Warrantech's response. Warrantech is of course taking their sweet time not replying...
Put a call into Warrentech and complain that you need the computer and that they should contact Micromedics right away. Otherwise, 1 or 2 weeks may go by until they authorize the repair. When it comes to computer repair they are notorious for slow service.
