no distinction between 32&64bits - u might have to sign up to get a key for it

i see not too much of a difference between ativistabeta driver and the RC1Stock , but for some graphic apps like Google Earth/sketchUp it does make a diiference. What is missing in vista is the OpenGL support, but i believe that uncle bill has a slighter hand in bundling this inside directx10 - still need to do some more research on this

so the 64bitsRC1 doing (very) well then?

cheers ...

Why do they charge $1.50 for it?

Were can I get RC2... please...

Dear all,
I had posted links on this thread to sites where one can download RC2 using the Bit Torrent download method.
I have been instructed by Thunder, the site admin to refrain from posting links to sites to unauthorized sites where one can download said software.
Please accept my apologies for providing the link. No harm was intended.
I will refrain from posting any such links in the future.

Regards

Vista RC2 Performance Index (Video)

Has anyone seen any improvement in the video index with Vista RC2 and the Beta Catalyst drivers versus RC2 Raw?

I just loaded RC2 last night and am downloading the Catalyst drivers. My video is cutting my performance index almost in half to 2.6 from 4.x on my m6811.

I loaded the Vista Business RC2 and things are working fine so far.

Always having to grant permission is a pain in the butt but I am sure it will help to make the machine less succeptable to malicious software.

hot new!
seems like that one must not have to migrate to vista for directx10

wondering how true that is

Anyone know how to get dual monitors to work on Vista RC-2 with a 6805 machine?

I had no problems with RC-1 but now for some reason I can not get it to work again?

If I boot with the ACER 16x9 monitor disconnected then the laptop screen comes up fine. If I boot with the ACER connected then it comes up fine. When I try and use "fn-F4" it tries to change over but nothing happens.

I did manage to boot with the Acer disconnected, and then connected and had both screens up but then when I go into the montior setting and try and adjust anything it shuts of the laptop screen and I am back to only having the ACER?

Any thoughts?

Cool, thanks... that fixed the problem.

I guess MS disabled the option in RC-2 as they have had problems with it when it comes out of stand-by with the monitors swapping or become one.

ATI Catalyst 7.2 - 2nd real vista driver from ati

recommendation - INSTALL!

. for vista, just download and run it: the installation management screen looks, well, "sexy"
. for vista, no need to do any un.installation, just chose the option update and express (recommended) and leave it be

for XP: one is being recommended (must - imho) to remove the previous version by the way of windows add/removal (just pick the "ati uninstallation" entry and it would/should remove the other (catalyst&driver) by itself. If not repeat the add/removal procedures until all ati related entries r no longer present

after installation; my set.up:
. disable ati related services (2 in xp, 1 in vista)
. disable ati related start.up processes (there was one with no description after the first start up, i m not sure that if it was a run.once type deal, but i zapped it using cCleaner)
. u can always access these tools from within start menu

observations:
. snappier screen refresh
. desktop looks more focus/sharp under xp (may be it is due to my new lorgnon)

cheers ...
