So we haven't had one of these in a while. Since this is summer and it just so happens most of us linuxers here are school people (college or hs) we suddenly have more free time over the summer, those our linux installations actually go somewhere. so figured why not share our "art".
i'll start

Arch Linux. Xorg7. Gnome 2.14.1. Using bits and pieces of Smokey and Nuvola themes, custom Arch grapihcs from arch forums and gnome-look for the splash, wallpaper and gdm themes.

ABF, how do you post the image with the thumbnail?

Ah, thanks. Here's my current desktop. It's pretty much the default Ubuntu as I haven't been able to change the start bar logo yet and xgl doesn't support metacity.

when you host with imageshack, after it finishes uploading it takes you to a page with different "codes" copy and paste here the one that says "Thumnail for Forum 1" or something along the lines of that.

all i did was take a screenshot of my desktop and set it as the background pic (not really background.. not sure what to call it exactly) so it looks like all 6 sides of the cube are desktops.. but they're really not

If it looks nice, why not?

Not that I am going to say it looks nice or not as I dont really have an opinion myself.

... why not? the vista beta had some great sample photos and wallpapers. so, i ripped them all off and i use them on my other computers. it came with some spectacular ones. also, i love beaches, aquatics, and tropical related stuff, so it's great for me. also, the sea turtle and the toucan were nice too.
