Haven't confirmed the higher scores without Artifacts - I see none in 3DMark 06 but I want to verify with other utilities first. But here is my best with NO ARTIFACTS using ATI TOOL .25 beta 14.

4760 - PcGeek04 - 2.0GHz / 2GB 533 / WUXGA / 100GB 5400 / single -pipe / Stock Dell Driver / 90W PS @ 590/1100/1.24V

CPU - T2500 2.0GHz
Memory - 2GB 533MHz
Screen - WUXGA
HD Size/Speed - 100GB 5400
Single or Dual-pipe Card - Single
Driver - Stock Dell
Power Supply - 90W
Core/Memory/Voltage - 590/550/1.24V
3DMark06 - 4760

Attachment 10493

ok i have a new score id like to post but im not sure if i have a single-pipe or dual-pipe 7900gs...im not going to tear my brand new $2000 laptop apart just to find this out. Is there a way to tell without tearing it apart? If it came with the laptop does that mean its a single pipe card?
Going on the assumption that my card is a single pipe card here is my score...
9086 3dmark05 - cell_491 - 2.0ghz / 2gb 667 / wuxga / 60gb 7200rpm / single-pipe / stock driver / 90W PS @ 640/1200/1.24v

All factory E1705's have single pipe 7900 GS cards.

it's also easy to spot if you're looking at the front of the notebook, directly at the vents where the heat sinks are... if you see copper right near the edge of the vent on both sides then it's a dual pipe..

So where are you guys getting the Dual Pipe Cards? Are they coming from dell? I didn't even know they made a dule pipe 7900GS

It's the For Sale forum on this board.....

http://www.notebookforums.com/forum25.html

edit: more specifically http://www.notebookforums.com/thread154626.html for his sale thread. He's legit. I bought a 9 cell and AC adapter from him and received them in good working order.

I noticed a lot of good results from people using dell's stock drivers... so why does everyone always bash the dell drivers?
Also, what are the XGM drivers?

Usually the stock dell drivers don't give as much of a performance boost as other drivers. Not that people bash them, but some prefer other drivers.

And XGM drivers are Extreme G Mobileforce drivers available at tweaksrus.com in the downloads section.

im not really sure to tell you the truth. I tried the fangui utility but it doesnt work correctly because it was saying my gpu was at 96 degrees celsius at idle with the default clock settings...which is obviously incorrect
