Hey phase nuts... - Page 3

Yeah told me the same thing, I am kinda pissed off about it, I am supposed to leave on buisness on the 4th, and I need the laptop. I was hoping that I would get it around my estimated shipping date which was yesterday. But I called them yesterday and all they say is your on phase 9...and it will be 5-7 buisness days...WHy don't they not work on saturdays...heck they're open. Whatever the boss told me I can wait a week to leave if I don't get laptop next week. I hope they ship it soon...

Maybe the assembly plant is open on Saturdays, just not the customer service and sales department. Tomorrow will be the third day of assembly for my system. If it hasn't moved out of phase 9 then I'm giving them a call.

That might be true most weekends but not sure how the holiday will affect building and shipping on this Friday and the holiday weekend.

Very true...Yeah this will be my 3rd day in phase 9... I will probably call them next week on monday to see about a status update...I want to call them tomorrow, but so far I've called them every day this week, minus today. And I've gotten the same answer...and worse answer when I e-mail them...The e-mails are you are in production stage...it will 5-7 days...and I'm thinking "Yeah right".

True, I didn't think about that. It could be a four-day weekend for some. However, the customer service representative on the phone told me that I could call back on either Friday or Monday to see if my order has shipped yet. So we'll see I guess.

If they give me that same scripted answer the next time I call them then I'm gonna speak with a supervisor. They're not gonna keep feeding me excuses.

I just called Alienware and received word that my system shipped today!!!! I won't get the tracking number until tomorrow because I guess it takes awhile to get it from FedEx. I've never been so anxious for something in my whole life. I pray to God that it gets to me before the weekend.

EDIT: Nevermind. I just received a pre-delivery alert from FedEx informing me of the tracking numbers and the scheduled date of delivery which is this Friday! Let's hope there aren't any delays to prevent it from getting here on time. Also, it lists two tracking numbers. There are two boxes in this shipment??? That's news to me. I thought it only came in one box. That is unless the keyboard and mouse aren't included in the computer box. Wish me lucky everyone!

BeaufordBuddy, if you don't mind me asking where are you have it shipped? Currious as your rig is shipping ~3 business days after mine and yet yours is scheduled to arrive only a day later (phase 14 3/25, estimated delivery date 3/31). - Nice new sig BTW.

It's being shipped to Killeen, Texas, just north of Austin. Actually, both yours and my ship time make sense. Yours shipped out on 3/25, I'm pretty sure it wasn't in transit over the weekend nor Monday because of Easter. So we pick back up at today which should be day 2, tomorrow is day 3, and on day 4 you should receive your system. As for me today was day 1 (pickup), tomorrow is day 2, the day after that (your delivery day) is day 3, and day 4 is on Friday. I just hope like hell it arrives on Friday because if not I'll have to wait through the longest weekend of my entire life.

Where is your system being shipped to?

Not sure what they did over the weekend. So far I only have two tracking points, Miami on the 25th and Orlando on the 26th. After talking with a FedEx rep I know that it is enroute somewhere by ground but have no idea when it left. Shipping to Perrysburg, Ohio, just south of Toledo.

I still think it is retarded that they ship it on a vehicle. FedEx uses planes for a reason. This isn't the Pony Express, lol.

Mine was Miami on the 24th and Orland on the 25th..

I seriously don't believe that some packages move over the weekend because I've tracked things in the past with both FedEx and UPS where the tracking status just stalls over the weekend. It's strange that you don't have more specifics on your system. Usually they'll log the status whenever it arrives and leaves somewhere.

I guess they figure there's a better chance of the system getting damaged if it was shipped by air. And I honestly believe there is, at least with USPS, because they damaged a custom built system I sent home while I was overseas.

AlienRichard said that he would look into it for me and that I should be getting something today indicating that it had reached an Ohio sort facility. Nothing posted on the FedEx tracking site yet (23:00) but as the last time it hit a sorting facility was almost 2am I figure I will let it ride tonight and check to see if there was anything posted tomorrow morning.

Yeah, <laughing>, I'm learning the get what you pay for lesson (read: free shipping). Though that savings did translate to more money for the computer budget itself so, as long as the above mantra holds true, it will all end well.

That's exactly the point. Seems like most folks do but Delta and I have been pretty much in the dark.

After reading through FedEx's site it says:

- Transit times for FedEx® Ground do not include Saturdays, Sundays, or holidays
- Transit times for FedEx® Home Delivery, do not include Sundays, Mondays, or holidays

So you got hit with both of those flightdoc.

I wonder if they offer limited tracking status on their FedEx Ground service because it's their cheapest option? For me it's of extreme importance to find out when and if my package is on a truck for delivery because the package isn't exactly coming to where I live.
