Problems with Acer VoIP and Skype with Bluetooth

Hi

I have problems getting the bluetooth voip handset to work on my new Acer 8204wlmi, using skype 2.5 beta. In the sound settings in the windows control panel, I have chosen the realtek hd audio as the source for both input & output sounds, like the acer manual states. In skype, I have chosen the windows default sound device for the input and output sources.

When I press the bluetooth button on the handset, the acer vcm info bar actually changes from "built-in audio device" to "bluetooth device". But when I try to make a call in skype, I hear nothing, neither in the handset nor the pc speakers.

If I in skype specifically states that I want to use the bluetooth for both input and output, it works great. But I also want that extra "acer functionality", where I can toggle between bluetooth and builtin speakers/microphone, simply by pressing that bluetooth button on the handset.

Any ideas anyone? Have anyone else made this work with skype 2.5 beta (or with any other version of skype, I have only tried it with 2.5 beta myself).

Best regards,
Frank W. Mortensen

You don't need set default Windows Audio Device to Bluetooth. AcerVCM use some technology named "Realtek HD Audio Data Rerouter" (RtkBtMnt.exe), It support dynamic switch audio stream, but add huge latency.

Hi, and thanks for your reply!

I didn't set the default windows to bluetooth, I set it to realtech hd audio.

It is that acer automatic switching mechanism that does not seem to work properly in my case

Do anyone else use this handset? Does it work as expected?
