E1205 in the works? I hope? anyone?

Thread Starter
I was looking at the XPS 1210 but I am just not sure I want to spend the extra cash if DELL is planning an E1205 with similar options.

Anyone have any info regarding this?

if they make an e1205...i wouldnt suspect it to have a very good graphics card. it would most likely be an intergrated graphics card. im thinking like a smaller version of the e1405

e1205 with int gfx is perfect for me. as long as its sub-1000$.

oh...well then idk. haha. i guess if dell sees that a general customizble 12" laptop is "in", then they would prolly start to make it. im hoping they will make a 15" xps soon. i cant believe they made a 12" xps before a 15"...or even a 14"

they might do it, but it won't be on the Inspiron line, it'll be latitude line.

I think it'll be a while till they make a 15" or 14" XPS system. The E1405 and E1505 seem to be doing pretty well, so I doubt they'd want to shoot themselves in the foot by making an XPS 15"/14".

Then again, if they make the E1405/E1505 even cheaper and then roll out a really expensive 15"/14" XPS, I could see it working out...

in a 12", i will never need anything but INT GFX. sure gaming is fun, but thats not what itd be for ya know.

guess ill just have to wait and see in the next few months. dell has a while to earn my sale, but not forever.

yea, but didnt dell have a 12" laptop before they had the m1210?

Dell had the Inspiron 710m prior to the 1210. I doubt they have an Inspiron 12" in the works.

Yeah, they did, but the people who'd buy a 710m aren't exactly gamers. Gamers would buy a 12" with a dedicated graphics card (or at least those who really want to see Vista at its best), and thus the M1210--so that there does make sense. There being no 14" or 15" XPS systems also make sense though, since they've covered all their bases the M1210 and the E1505 (an "ultra-portable" and a mid-size, both with dedicated gfx cards); Dell's got an entire spectrum of laptops with gfx cards, so there doesn't seem to be a need for a 14" or 15" high-performance system. More systems would just be kind of... redundant, I guess.

Hey, I resent that! Just kidding. I'm not as much of a gamer anymore, I still do sometimes, and that's what the xps2 is for (:

Yeah, I didn't mean anything by it.

Really though, my impression of the 710m was that it was for people who wanted something that they could be productive with and not have to break their backs carrying. It's small enough and has good enough battery life for just that purpose.

Still, I think the M1210 is a great compromise. It's pretty small and it has it's own graphics card, which should bridge that gap between productivity and gaming specific laptops.

i still wanna see a 710m refresh!
