9750 randomly crashes

Thread Starter
I just recently received my 9750 and it periodically is crashing for some reason (normally when left idle for a while). The symptoms are the keyboard doesn't respond and the screen doesn't update or won't come back from black. The LCD clock continues to update with the correct time though.

The specs of my machine are:
AMD FX-60
2Gb RAM
2x100Gb 7200RPM drivers in RAID 0
MSI Combo WLAN card (with Bluetooth)

Has anyone else had a similar problem? If so, what is the cause of it and how do I fix it as it is getting very annoying?

Thanks in advance,
Mark

I had the exact problem with my 9750. I have different specs, but the problem was the same. I tried everything including new drivers, spyware/antiv-virus checks, random program removal, swearing/throwing things, and a full reformat of windows. The problem persisted. Finally I checked the sticks of ram and one was bad. I pulled one out and with the bad still in, it wouldn't boot at all. With the good stick in, it was fine. You might wanna try to open the center panel under your 9750 (just a few small screws) and test the ram. Gently pull the latches on the side of the ram away from it and the ram will come out upwards. Good luck, hope this helped.

I had a similar problem as well. My hypersonic aviator fx7 (same as 9750) was working perfectly fine. Then one day it started rebooting frequently. I was barely able to make it through the windows bootup to the desktop. I did the same thing as mike27, took out on piece of ram and the computer wouldn't start. Took out the second piece and put back in the other and it ran fine. Got the memory stick replaced and all is good now.
