if u have your laptop plugged into the wall, and something were to happen, like someone trips over the cord, or there is a power surge, will your laptop be ok? like...will it turn off, or will it run off the battery? im more concerned about the first one seeing as how i got a surge protector for my laptop

Yes, it'll automatically kick over to battery if the AC power gets disconnected, etc. It won't protect against surges though.

good job on getting a surge protector for your laptop. That'll take care of a lot of the problems. As for the battery, yes, once the AC power is cut, (ie the power goes out), your laptop will automatically switch over to battery power. Also, a good thing to do would be to set your laptop's power setting so it will automatically turn off when the battery goes down to a certain percentage. Just some food for thought.

it should be fine. Your laptop doesnt use up a lot of power anyway.
