Hi,

I have a Travelmate 8104 which I want to plug a midi controller into.

What would be the best way to do this?

Cheers, I.

Well, needless to say it has no MIDI jack. Are there any other connection options on the MIDI keyboard? USB?

If not, than the only thing that comes to my mind is SoundBlaster Audigy Exigy (I think that's what it's called). I can't remember if it has a MIDI port though.

You'll need midi to usb adapter - eg. one of those:

But if you really want to use midi, you should buy external soundcard.

OK, so what do you mean by really want to use midi?

At the moment I just want to use a keyboard as a controller and have all the sounds come from virtual instruments. How does an external soundcard help midi anyway?

Thanks for the help.
