[XPS M1210] Questions about the fans/heating

I'm just wondering how loud the laptop is. Is it OK to leave it on overnight for example without being annoying (running, say, a bittorrent application).
And does it have any overheating issues at all? Thanks.

I've been monitoring the CPU and HD temperatures in my new M1210 and I've got to say that compared to my old Acer 2012WLMi and my work laptop (Toshiba Tecra 1.73GHz Dothan) I have been really impressed with the fairly low temps when just web surfing/downloading. I doubt running torrents overnight would be an issue.

On average I've been seeing CPU temps of ~35C or less and HD temp seems to sit at around 38C which is reasonable.

I hope this info helps

thanks. that helps, but could you tell me about how loud the fans are as well? thanks!

This is purely subjective, but the fans are not loud at all.

Would you be able to sleep with the laptop on, while it's downloading, for example?

Sorry to be an ass, but why not ask this in the section where people actualy have one, such as in the Core Duo section of the forums?

But I will answer your last question. I can sleep with my computer on. You can turn off the fans and put it in "power saving mode" so the only thing you hear is the hard drive, but the fans aren't that bothersome. You won't hear them if you like to listen to headphones before you sleep. I actualy fell asleep while listening to Scary Kids Scaring Kids pretty loud with iTunes visualier going.
