Sony AR190 or ASUS w2jb machine quality?

I cannot decide between the ASUS W2jb or the Sony AR190. I wish to have the lightest destop replacement with the best build quality. I'd have already bought the 17" MBP but won't want to use mac os at all.

The video offering on the ASUS is the older x1600 but the Sony is heavier.

What do you guys think about build quality of Sony's AR series? Of all the Sony's Ive touched the SZ premium seems the best build quality of their line up, but 13" display is kinda small. I haven't physically seen the AR yet. I am also interested in sound quality. Price isn't a factor at this time.

Or these two machines head to head what do you guys think?

i have had a sony before and it was not that great, their support is pretty much garbage too. Check out the asus forums, i have heard great things about them

the Sony is a monster...it's huge, and definitely very heavy. The 17in MBP is definitely the lightest DTR available. If you want light, go with the ASUS.

Btw, the X1600 video card doesn't lag behind the 7600GT by much. The X1600 out of the box scores about 4000 while the 7600GT out of the box scores about 5000 in 3DMark05.
