Help Help Help! Major Internet Issues!!!

No time for intros, I need all the time I can get. To get to the point, my internet on my computer is not working, that is wireless internet. Today I had been doing my normal surfing when Avast alerted me that there was a Trojan Horse on my computer. It could not move it to the chest, and so I just told it to delete it. That message came up atleast twenty more time, and I just kept deleting it. The file was NEWDOT.COM or something like that. I eventually ended up uninstalling whatever NEWDOT.COM was (I never remember getting it in the first place) and then I went to school for the day and never thought anything of it. When I was in period 3 I tested the school's wireless internet, and my computer detected and connected to it, but explorer would just go to the "The Page Cannot be Displayed" message. When I got home it did the same thing. I need internet desperately for my project and using the computer I'm on is not an option for long. Please, any help or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!!!
P.S. I was pondering system restore, but I doubt that will do anything.
EDIT: I can't restore my system because there are no retore points

NewdotNet.dll corresponds to New.Net software installed on your computer which by default installs in 'C:\\Program Files\\NewDotNet'.

This software integrates itself with the network configuration (Windows Sockets, or Winsock stack) so that all DNS queries are passed through the New.net DLL.

If the DLL is removed without also rolling back the changes made to the Winsock stack, such as by simply deleting the file, the computer's Internet connection will be broken.

If a particular file or dll is removed manually or accidentally by an anti-virus or spyware removal program then it tampers your internet connection settings and damages your winsock.

I downloaded the thing, but it still doesn't work because When I open it and click finish it says that nothing is done/repaired. The list under keep is mswsock.dll, winrnr.dll, and rsvpsp.dll. Any other suggestions?

Did you remove the newdot software completely? There's a link in Jacee's post to DL the removal software. And here's another link on removal:
http://cexx.org/newnet.htm

After you've removed it completely, you could try this:
http://compnetworking.about.com/gi/d...sockxpfix.html

If none of that works, you may have to back up your documents and reformat, unless you have a backup Ghost or Acronis image that you can restore from.

Good luck!

Great! Glad that it's all resolved now.

You may want to run this free online malware scan to make sure that you got all the baddies off your system:
