I purchased this Nook Color specifically because I was taking a very long trip to China and wanted to be able to read without carrying a ton of books. I also liked that it had email capability...
This is an awesome mouse with an excellent grip for a mid sized to large size hand. Right-handed, comfortable, trendy, upscale, red, responsive, functional, task oriented.
Overall A+++
Fantastic had this machine 6 months and can honestly say have had no bother with it. Plays games better than most desktops and keeps up with the rest which is outstanding for a...
yes, I received my laptop yesterday and working fine. only thing I'm noticing is that the fan was running the whole time I had it running. could be kind of annoying when doing any recording I believe they just add an R to the end of the model #. eg - F15R I did receive new patch recovery discs. no explanation re these discs, but believe I only need them if doing a full recovery/reformat. looks like majority of my data was not lost as result of the board work ps...should also note that pretty sure they upgraded the graphics chip to Nvidia Go 6600. not positive, I'll have to ck and confirm this later.
I'm from the UK and have a F10 (haven't seen them mentioned in this thread) but have the exact same problems with the lines. I've had it 18mts and am now out of warrenty and am going to call Toshiba tonight to see about getting a fix like many of you have.
Was wondering if anyone thinks i'll have a problem considering mine is an F10 and coming from the UK will some of the info on here still help me?
I was wondering if someone has a copy of that memo going about could they scan it and e-mail it to me at, ricky.blayney@btinternet.com
In fact, mine was logged in by Toshiba as an F10 model and F10 is actually contained in the serial number.
you have nothing to lose by calling Toshiba. I was in the same situation regarding warranty and they took it in for repair as if it were still under warranty.
Hello to everyone
I have a toshiba qosmio g15 since I think one and a half year, everything was ok until the vertical lines appear on the screen, I think is also the video card, I would like to know if I can ask for the change of the motherboard, because im not in USA.
rodarapan is right. toshiba warranties are global. Just take the laptop to an authorized service center inyour country and they should be able to get you straightend out.
I've had a laptop purchased in the US worked on under warranty here in CHile and a friend of mine has also. The biggest drawback was having to wait an extra week for parts to be shipped from the warehouse in Miami before they could start working on them, so be prepared to for that. Also make sure to bring any proof of ownership with you when you bring it in, unless you have registered your ownership of the model with Toshiba.
My wife's F15 cratered about a week ago. Got the usual $1,400 quote from BestBuy to fix it (she bought it there 15 months ago, no extended warranty).
Thanks to this site, I called Toshiba, mentioned I'd been reading about the problem on NoteBookForums.com, and he immedately mentioned the free motherboard upgrade program and is sending the box to ship the laptop.
He told me 5-7 days on the repair. Does anyone have experience that supports this?
okay, i've got the same problem with a Qosmio F15-AV201. well, actually it's a friend, but anyway, my question is are they gonna wipe the hard drive when i send it in for warranty service? she doesn't have anything backed up, and it's gonna be somewhat of a pain to do that when i can't really use the computer. i'll probably just pop the hard drive out to back it up, but just out of curiousity, are they gonna wipe it? thanks.
yes rapmaster -- back up before you send it in or risk having to re-download all that pirated software! (you could always take your drive out and patch it into your desktop to remove or backup your data). Good luck.
thanks for all of the advice. i booted it up in safe mode and to my surprise was able to see the screen well enough to use it, and again to my surprise nero actually let me burn a DVD in safe mode to back everything up to. the girl who owns the machine thankfully had so little stuff on her computer to back up it all fit on one DVD. i definitely can't say the same for myself...
one thing i did want to confirm is that Toshiba will repair the motherboard on the Qosmio F15 and G15 computers that are out of warranty for free. a lot of people had mentioned that they might, but i can definitely say that they will. just to let those of you know who may be out of warranty like my friend.
I took out the drive and our IT guy at work backed it up for me -- Toshiba says they will do their best to keep from wiping the drive, but no guarantees, period.
Haven't posted in a few on this forum. Been fighting with Toshiba. Like I said I sent my G15 in for the upgrade and new screen. Computer came back with new hard drive, LOUD fans, computer shuts down when it's hot and running SO slow. I haven't put any new programs on it. Onsite tech came out a week after sending it to Tech Depot to replace the screen once again. He has also ordered a hinge which was broken at Tech Depot. I have called Support over and over to complain about this LEMON and wanted to speak with Customer Relations at the Head Quarters in Irvine Ca. They tried over and over with no luck and will not give you thier direct number. OOPS, one if the reps who didn't speak English quite well gave me the direct phone number 949=583-3000. His name is John and trust me, he will be one of the rudest ppl you ever speak with. He denies there is anything worng with these laptops. I suggest calling him. Maybe he is out of the loop. He finally agreed he would check into my case to help me and would call me back. Taa-Dah, he had onsite repair call me to replace my hard drive again (this makes number 5) replace sys board (number 7 I think) THIS IS A JOKE
