Hi,
I have a Toshiba Satellite CDS 1605. It used to work with a Windows 98 Second Edition. I always used it with the AC cable, because the battery never worked for enough time.
About a year ago, I could only turn it on once, it would enter normally. If I had to reboot or turn it on again after a short while, the only screen that I could see was the Toshiba logo and a line at the left bottom saying: "Press <F2> to enter SETUP" . When pressing F2 it would give the following info:

"PhoenixBIOS 4.0 Release 6.0
Copyright 1985-1999 Phoenix Technologies Ltd.
All rights reserved

Build time: 12/24/99 03:05:33
N5168 System BIOS Rev. 1.03A
CPU = AMD-K6 (tm) -2/450
640K System RAM Passed
31K Extended RAM Passed
0512 Cache SRAM Passed
SystemBIOS shadowed
Video BIOS shadowed
UMB upper limit segment address: ED57
Mouse initialized
Fixed Disk 0: TOSHIBA MK 4313MAT
ATAPI CD-ROM: R4S

Entering SETUP..."

and nothing else happened.
I had then to leave it without turning it on for several days or it would show me the same Toshiba logo screen mentioned above. After several days of "rest" I would be allowed for once to open it normally, but only once at a time otherwise...
I decided to format the HD to reinstall the windows. It got stuck in the middle of the format process. Now the only thing I see is the Toshiba logo screen mentioned above, with the same info after pressing F2. If I press a CTRL, ALT, DEL after seeing the info above, the screen that comes is
"PhoenixBIOS 4.0 Release 6.0

Build time: 12/24/99 03:05:33

Since it now is not even reading the boot, it simply turns on with the Toshiba logo screen mentioned above, I tried after a long "rest" to update the BIOS, but it's not reading the boot.
If someone knows whats happening please help.
Thanks for your time.
