Send a PM to MrEvil. He is a Dell field technician. Then send a PM to Bal' Thzar. He is a Dell affiliate reseller. They should be able to give you all the info you need.

PCGeek, I've sent you 2 PMs on this. Make sure your inbox isn't full The companies that do Dell's field work are QualXServ, Unisys, and Banctec, QualXServ doesn't have any openings in Wisconsin (they list posistions on careerbuilder.com) Just check each company's website for openings. NCR does some stuff for Dell too, but not much.

Didn't you forget DecisionOne? Or do they just do the Small/Medium Business Field Work and Warranty Replacements? They handle all of our service calls.

I wouldn't mind knowing what it takes to become certified.

I had no idea that DecisionOne was doing Dell stuff. There's not a DecisionOne guy around here. There's just QualXServ, NCR, and Banctec here. I reckon DecisionOne handles Dell's same day calls and enterprise calls. None of us up here do Dell 3.5 hour response calls, My guess is it's Decision one.

Computer Service companies can join a program with Dell that allows the Service company to do Dell warranty work for thier clients. For example, my company had two clients that were at one point big Dell houses. We paid Dell to join thier program and got our clients to sign paperwork that listed us as the prefered vendor for warranty work. Our techs were certified by Dell and that was pretty much it. Of course, we were limited to performing warranty work for only those clients who had signed the agreement with Dell. That program changed a little last year though. From what I understand, Dell started charging an annual fee for each customer that we provided Dell warranty service for.
