Dell's Phone Calls

Thread Starter
I've recently ordered a Dell XPS m1710 from Dell.ca. The next day i get a phonecall telling me that i should upgrade my processor and ram as i have a "highend" laptop and only a 1.86ghz proc and 1 gig of ram. I said I didn't have to money to upgrade. The next day i get a call from the same person asking the same thing Has anyone else ever got a call like this? I just want my laptop to come but i assume its not being built if they keep asking me to upgrade.

maybe its a hassle for them to put that processor in that system. next time they call, ask them if it would help them out if you accepted a free upgrade

probably won't work, but worth asking

Heh, that would at least stop them from calling back if you keep asking for free stuff.

We're sorry that CPU is not good enough....please upgrade or your order will be cancelled....

Usually when that happens it means they are having a supply issue and they are trying to get you to upgrade so they can fill the order.

this was like in a situation, when my family bought a new lawn-mower(grass cutter) a few years back. ummm we got a high-end model, and they didn't have the engine left in sydney, so they had to get it ordered from the stock warehouse, at the warehouse, they were also out of stock, and they jsut gave us a more powerful engine into the mower!
