Update, my origional purchase was for Total Price: $3,307.00

But still, I believe that is adequate money to get me a top of the line machine.

Now that I know you all here, maybe you could help me set this machine up. It could be like the community's rig!!

well, except for the fact that you will only get to experience the laptop through my personal satisfaction

So, start pickin!

it has to be the same model or you can choose a different one?

So, anything you all would change? Anything thats not needed, or should be added? I want to make sure this will keep me good for the next few years, and be able to run Vista to its fullest extent. I can go probably 300+ more, but I really would like to save that money.

heh, i was just about to post the one i configured for you and it had the same specs as the one you just posted that some seems like a good option and more than enough for Windows Vista

yah, i know I probably should, but I am hoping he will let me throw the 2 year extension I just purchaced over to the new machine. I sent him an email seeing if that would be possible, or if I could get a refund on that warranty purchase as I only made it last month.

That's great to hear MrG00DWrench1...

I'm sure their intention is to offer you a system of the same cost as your old system, so if you want to get a more expensive system you should suggest you pay the difference and maybe they'll go for that.

Yes, I figured thats what the case would be. Looks like our machines are the same, other than the processor.

Hey MrGoodwrench1, that's great to hear!

Do they have your laptop at depot right now? I had the exact same thing happen, the only sucky thing was I had to send back my laptop, and they take a week to disassemble and inventory it before starting to build your new one. But the wait is definitely worth it! (I think, as soon as they get my screen in stock, that is )

No, it is and has been sitting on my floor in the same spot for a few weeks. I guess I should get ontop of sending it as soon as I talk to James.

Sounds great, MrGOODWrench...hopefully all will go smoothly with the new order. I'm sure you know that you may have to wait a bit for the m9700, since it's a new machine - but looks like you've got a hot one coming !

Yah, but if that were the case, that would mean I was to inevitibly die.

So you and your island can...ummmm....*insert vulgarish remark here*. Yah! That!

Anyways, I am having a bit of a biffy right now. I've got two options, both seem appealing, yet unappealing. Please help me figure out which configuration to go with....

Configuration 1:
AMD Turion™ 64 Mobile ML44 2.4GHz 800MHz FSB 1MB L2 Cache
160GB (80GB x 2) 5400 RPM SATA with NCQ
Total with other specs:
$3,317.00

--OR--

Configuration 2:
AMD Turion™ 64 Mobile ML40 2.2GHz 800MHz FSB 1MB L2 Cache
160GB (80GB x 2) 7200 RPM SATA with NCQ
Total with other specs:
$3,277.00

As you can see, one setup has a 2.4ghz cpu, and a 160gig 5400rpm setup, while the other has a 2.2ghz cpu, but with a 160gig 7200rpm setup.

I've been an Intel user since I first started gaming, and this will be the first AMD I've bought yet. What are the comparisons between a 2.2 and a 2.4, with what I've been used to in my current rig(when it works), which is an intel 3.6 ht?

As soon as I figure this out, I will be ordering it.
